I bought this awhile ago but never got around to reviewing it as it was such a ‘meh’ product. I have not been able to find a cream moisturiser that didn’t break me out so in my last ditch effort to find a moisturiser I turned to more ‘gel’ like formulations, which, this product has. It did not break me out at but at the same time I didn’t feel that this was particularly moisturising. The Mizon Nonstop Waterful Aqua Cream didn’t horrify me, nor did it amaze me but instead of just being an average product I found that I didn’t enjoy using it very much. Overall, it is a decent product that I just couldn’t warm up to it.

Bascially: Its a gel type moisturiser and it comes in a jar. Like all products that come in a jar it comes with an inner sealing lid that stops the product from spilling everywhere, and depending on your preferences you might not like that it is packaged in a jar for hygienic reasons. Personally, I’m not bothered by the jar packaging but it is a little annoying to open for each use.
The good stuff: The ingredients list is solidly formulated with Niacinamide as well as a few other well known ingredients (bolded) featuring in the list. According to CosDNA only a few ingredients are red flagged (listed in red below) but as always check for any ingredients you may be sensitive to that may not be necessarily highlighted by CosDNA. Upon application it is not sticky and doesn’t really absorb – more that it sits on your skin to trap moisture from evaporating.
Aqua, Hydrolyzed Corallina Officinalis Extract, Butylene Glycol, Neopentyl glycol diheptanoate, Cyclomethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polysilicone-11, Triethylhexanoin, Niacinamide, Polysorbate 20, Tri-C14-15 Alkyl Citrate, Dimethicone, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Natto gum, Carbomer, Triethanol amine, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Xanthan Gum, Adenosine, Honey, Iris Florentina Root Extract, Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil, Oenothera Biennis Oil, Sodium PCA, Betaine, Sorbitol, Glycine, Alanine, Proline, Serine, Threonine, Arginine, Lysine, Glutamic Acid, Algae Extract, Crithmum Maritimum Extract, Collagen, Copper Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl, Pentapeptide-4, Disodium EDTA, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tropolone, CI 42090, Fragrance
Issues: As I mentioned above, while I didn’t break out from this product, I also didn’t see any positive effect from using this moisturiser. By itself it is not particularly moisturising and after testing it layered above and under the other steps in my routine I’ve come to the conclusion that this doesn’t function very well as a moisturising layer but rather a sealing layer.
It also has a very strong chemical floral scent which is really off putting. Normally I am not too bothered by scents (even though I would prefer not to have any) but this was uncomfortable to smell which, made it even more unpleasant to use.
In a Nutshell:
An average product with a solid formulation but let down by poor moisturising ability and strong chemical floral scent
Love: Non-sticky application, possible sealing step?
Do not love: It isn’t very moisturising, has a strong chemical floral scent, doesn’t absorb and only sits on the surface of the skin
Recommended? Eh. I can’t say I don’t recommend this at all but at the same time I really did not enjoy using this so I can’t exactly recommend it.
I rate it: 2/5 Average product but I just could not tolerate the scent + lackluster performance to justify using it.
