Review: Essence eyeshadow – Cappuccino, please!

I’m sure many of you are familiar with the brand Essence and today I bring you a review on their eyeshadow called Cappuccino, please! It had cost me about $2.70(ish?) at Priceline and I was quite surprised at the pigmentation and appearance when I used it. It turns out to be a pretty good highlighting shade and its possible to use it with another colour so you get a two coloured eyeshadow look that is extremely wearable in the day time.

Basically… It’s a shimmer eyeshadow in a beige colour.

The Good stuff… Pigmentation is impressive, even without the use of a primer it shows up clearly! It can be easily used as a highlighter thanks to the large pan surface allowing you to use your larger brushes on it and is a good compliment to any ‘no-make up’ look. Also, no fall out! On application and while wearing it. It’s so smooth to apply – almost like velvet!

Issues… Packaging is cheap – no two ways around it. It’s just a clear plastic container with annoyingly sharp edges on the lid that can and will ding a fresh manicure. But you know what? I paid for this with my loose change so I’m not going to complain (any more than I already have).

Swatches: I only swiped the eyeshadow once – a testament to it’s epic pigmentation.

I’m contemplating picking up more colours from Essence but so far none of the current colours really call out to me.

In a Nutshell:

Love: Smooth application, no fall out, good pigmentation, can be used in a variety of ways.
Do not love: Cheap packaging
Should you buy it? Yes, this is a cheapie but a goodie.
I rate it: 4/5

Have you tried any of the eyeshadows in the Essence range?

I haven’t actually bought any of the singles, because I just lose things that aren’t in palettes. However, Essence eye liners and nail polish have always impressed me a lot.

haha, that’s always a pain to lose stuff! I actually bought a quad eyeshadow from Essence and it’s pretty good! Have you bought any of the quads?

I haven’t expanded into other Essence products but I love their nail polishes! I find the quality pretty decent and ridiculously affordable as well

I was a little skeptical about the quality of the eyeshadows but I’m glad I bought it anyway! It turned out to be much better than what I was expecting! I haven’t tried any of the other items in the Essence range yet (other than nail polish) but I think they’ll be good quality too!
