TONYMOLY Egg pore blackhead out gel: Review

I came across this in a Morning Glory store and as I have a blackhead problem (and those pore strips just weren’t cutting it anymore) I figured I might as well give it a try. I think it retails for about $16 but I bought this off eBay for $8.50 (and the seller gave me two samples of tomatox which I’ll review in good time) so it’s really not such a bad price if you buy it online. Anyway, I’ve read some reviews saying that it didn’t work, others that said it did, and others that said it sort of worked. Since everyone who reviewed it was so split I decided to try it myself.

To use according to the Tony Moly website;

Egg pore blackhead out oil gel –After through cleansing, apply an adequate amount of “Egg pore blackhead out oil gel” onto T-zone area with gentle massage for 3~5min and wash off.(transparent oil gel turns into white color as it combines with sebum)

However, some bloggers have mentioned that you should leave the gel on your nose for a few minutes before massaging it in. I decided to go with that as they mentioned that it would work better that way.
I left it on for a few minutes and then proceeded to massage for another few minutes…

Did it work? I don’t know, maybe I need to use it a few more times but I felt like it didn’t do much. It might have reduced the appearance of blackheads by some measure but I can’t say it worked like magic.
I did like the light citrus scent from the product, it does reduce oil to give my nose a squeaky clean feel and the exfoliating beads does the job credibly well even though it’s quite thin in the product once you’ve spread it on your face.

Will I buy it again? Probably not, but it was worth the try and even though it didn’t do what it said it would it’s a decent cleanser but its worth following up with a clay mask to tighten pores.
I will keep using this until the jar runs out though and I’ll do another post after I’ve finished using it.

To Sum up:

Loved; scent and packaging
Too bad; it didn’t really get rid of my blackheads
I will; try it again and steam my face first and will post again once I’ve finished this product.

I’ve bought the silky smooth egg (from the same line as this egg pore) and the green appletox from Tony Moly as well, only because Paypal was giving away $10 to every unique eBay and Paypal account a few days ago! (I just used my brother’s account to get the silky smooth egg) Each was about $10 on eBay so it worked out!
The next thing for my blackheads that I really want to try is the Volcanic clay blackhead nose pack from The Face Shop as well. It’s selling for about $5 on eBay so I’ll give that a go soon.
